The calendar further divides the year into 6 parts: spring, summer, autumn, winter, and winter.

■ 24 Setsukki of Spring

立春 Risshun → 雨水 Usui → 啓蟄 Keihinetsu → 春分 Shunbun Vernal Equinox → 晴明 Seimei → 穀雨 Kokuu

Exactly halfway

Starts the second half of spring

When day and night are the same length.

Vernal Equinox Day is a national holiday as “a day to celebrate nature and to cherish all living things. ㊗️

The next 24th day of the lunar calendar is April 5th, “Seimei” 晴明

The first season is from around 21st to 25th.

雀始巣 Suzume hazimete sukuu

Around the time when cherry blossoms begin to bloom

Spring will arrive in earnest as cherry blossoms are declared to be in full bloom one after another throughout the country.

Late season, around 31~4

雷乃発声 Kaminari sunawachi koeo hassu

Around the time when thunder begins to sound, bringing blessed rain.

Atmospheric conditions become unstable due to the change of seasons, and snow and hail may fall.


The cherry blossoms bloomed early this year and are said to be in full bloom in Tokyo in no time 🌸.
