The calendar divides the year into six parts: spring, summer, autumn, winter, and winter.

立夏 Rikka → 小満 Shoman → 芒種 Boshu → 夏至 Geshi:Summer solstice→ 小暑 Syosho → 大暑 Taisho

■ 小暑 Shosho

The rainy season is over and the heat is in full swing.

The cicadas begin to sing, and it is the time to send out summer greeting cards (Shogatsu 7/7 to 8/7, the day before Risshu).

The next 24th day of the month is July 23rd, “Taisho”.

■ 七十二候 Shitijuniko

A calendar that further divides the 24 solar terms into three parts.

The first season is from July 7 to 11.

温風至 Atsukaze itaru 

Around the time when hot winds start to blow.

Hot wind is said to be a foehn phenomenon in which moist air crosses over the mountains and becomes dry hot wind.

The next season will be around 12th~16th.

蓮始開 Hasu hazimete hiraku 🪷

The time when lotus flowers begin to bloom.

Around the 17th~22nd of the last month

鷹乃学習 Taka sunawachi gakusyusu 🦅

The chicks that hatch in May and June learn how to fly, catch prey, and prepare to become independent.
